課程概述

This course starts from the introductory lectures for theory, concept and evidence-based practices of early childhood intervention, and continues with some advance classes for assessment, and outcome evaluation for children with developmental disabilities. Students will conduct systematic reviews on each topic relating to early childhood intervention, including policy, frameworks & theories, evidence-based practice, assessment and outcomes, effectiveness. Furthermore, all students will practice for designing and implementing a novel early intervention program for a family having a child with developmental disabilities. 

課程目標
1. Be able to understand the concepts and content of early childhood intervention and holistic care for children in need. (Compassion caring and professional ethics)
2. Be able to understand the status of early intervention in Taiwan and in the western countries. (Global vision)
3. Be able to understand the roll of physical therapists in early intervention and the collaborative models in various settings. (Teamwork and leadership)
4. Be able to understand the knowledge of ICF-CY, Client Management model, assessment and intervention for infants and children, and cost-effectiveness analysis. (Knowledge and skills in specialty)
5. Be able to understand the evidence-based practice and related research of early intervention. (Scientific inquiry)
6. Be able to integrate the knowledge, to design an early childhood intervention programs and implement the program to the family with a child affected by developmental disabilities. (Knowledge and skills in specialty)
